We are inspired by nature so our top concern is protecting it. When initially creating PALASADE, we wanted to ensure we were doing it right from the beginning. As conscious creators, PALASADE prioritises sustainability and ethical manufacturing standards. We believe fashion can be a sustainable process, without sacrificing look and feel.
Our journey to sustainability is ever-changing and evolving, like the environment we’re working to support. We learn more and more every day about endless possibilities to progress. We have honest and important conversations with our providers, merchants and customers to find new solutions.
While we're not perfect, we pride ourselves on choosing the most sustainable options wherever possible. We are continuously working on ways we can limit our impact on the planet and use our voice for good.
Wherever possible, PALASADE pieces are made from natural or recycled fabrics. This means even our linings are consciously created.
Our linen wear is made from 100% natural linen, naturally dyed in India where these pieces are also made. All linings in the linen wear range are made from 100% satin silk which is also naturally dyed at the source.
Our swimwear is made from ECONYL which is a 100% regenerated nylon made from abandoned fishing nets and waste from landfills and oceans. As well as being a solution to nylon waste, the process to create our regenerated nylon fabrics are also better when it comes to climate change. It reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 80% compared with the material made from oil.
One of our biggest priorities is to ensure all people are treated fairly. This means our production process values its people and works to ensure that all people are treated fairly and respectfully throughout the entire process.
PALASADE linen wear is made in India by a small team of very talented seamstresses and artisans. We value our close friendly relationship with our team in India and hope to visit them as soon as possible.
PALASADE swimwear is made in Indonesia. It is our goal to support the garment industry in Indonesia and its talented local artisans. Our factories employ local staff who also have the option of working from home. All staff receive free medical insurance are paid well over the minimum wage.
We visit our manufacturers whenever possible and are constantly discussing ways in which we work better with them.
Our packaging has been carefully crafted to be the most efficient and least impactful to our environment.
Your PALASADE purchase comes in a reusable 100% cotton drawstring bag. We encourage you to keep your PALASADE pieces in our cotton drawstring bags in your wardrobe or when travelling.
All of our paper packaging and stationery is made from paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which helps conserve the world’s forests by responsible forest management. We've tried our best to limit any unnecessary stationary, like tissue paper and extra fluff.
Our mailers are also eco-friendly as they are biodegradable which means you can put it in your compost and they will break down in 90 days. If you don't have access to a compost, you can still put it in the garbage but it will take around 2 years to break down completely. We think this is still a lot better than plastic which can take 400 years to break down!
